Through a project entitled Nomad Spirit, Bolortuvshin recently went on a journey across a remote part of Mongolia and discovered the devastation left by unregulated mining and widespread environmental pollution. She was appalled at man’s capacity for destruction in the midst of such a stunning and beautiful landscape. The scenes reminded her of the violence of rape. She used her lens to express emotions of deep anger and outrage.
